Department of Applied Linguistics and Communication
Established in 1965, ours is the UK's oldest applied linguistics department and our interdisciplinary approach to teaching and research continues to drive the field. We specialise in bilingualism and multilingualism, intercultural communication, language development and language teaching.
Department of History, Classics and Archaeology
Our Department is a centre of original, influential research, highly ranked for its world-leading and internationally excellent research. Our stimulating teaching and wide-ranging courses encompass fascinating periods and topics, from human prehistory to the contemporary world.
